***Call for volunteers to protect our children’s playing fields!***
The Village Hall Committee is trying to get on top of the dog mess problem, which has escalated in recent months (thought to be due, in part, to an increase in commercial dog walkers using the space and letting their charges foul the area). This is impacting our children playing football on our home ground.
As well as erecting signs reminding people not to foul the area, the Village Hall Committee plans to patrol the area at regular times in daylight hours. They are requesting volunteers (perhaps people who already use the area themselves to walk their dogs) to take part in the patrols.
The first patrol of the day will spray paint left dog poo with a chalk based pink paint. These will then be collected the next day and so on.
If you see offenders, please note their registration number if you can and report it to the village hall.
If you are able to help, please contact chairman@hughendenvillagehall.co.uk, letting them know that you are part of the football club and interesting in supporting the initiative as a volunteer.
